Who would be down
« on: May 14, 2011, 08:18:07 AM »
for a Suburban Hive III, or just another 2-hour CBP really. The last ones turned out really well... it would be sick if we gathered up the same roster for a new one. Thoughts ?

I would really like to see a space-level made by our talented mappers!

yeah that could be interesting too, space levels are rare birds nowadays, and it could still somehow blend in with the alien infestation theme introduced by the previous maps

I like the idea of alien planets better but both themes are not mutually exclusive

Late June or July. Maybe. Depends on time (when I finish packing out - I'm doing the whole house by myself after 8 hour school days and the movers are coming to get it late July), and if I have a change of heart about making something for release.

Whatever the map's theme will be, i'm really interested to join the project. A space/alien planet would be good

Maybe a good idea to wait till after DNF has been released and the hype has died down a little, it may also draw in some extra people who are interested in D3D.

Good idea, The Commander. I'd be interested in this subject. I would love to create clean, magnificent looking space map (alien infestation would be nice addition). How about a space city?

space city was my original plan when I started the first sectors of Suburban Hive II, or well an alien city at least, then it got out of hand and people started building crazy shit hah, but for the better, it's still one of my favorite maps

yeah it looks good but apparently it doesn't inspire anyone nor does it fit with the theme ha, not that we couldn't do anything from it though, you just seem to really want to do a space map while we haven't even settled for the theme yet and we don't even have a beginning of a roster that you are already submitting something, did you build that on purpose for this in two hours or is it an old map of yours ? it does look pretty cool, reminds me of the original E2 a lot

no no the results ended up even greater than what I had in mind, and unpredictability is part of the game with these projects anyway, also I like it much more when everyone is free to build whatever they want to add to the map than when they are forced to 'work' under a shit ton of constraints, it's more interesting and spontaneous. Your garden section is still one of my favorite user map locations ever mood-wise

I created part of the beginning of the map just for this.

alright. I think it can be used, let's just wait to see if this project ends up gathering more interest with time. Maybe the world isn't ready yet !
