Too bad for the victims but more is on the way because of Russia's fucked up "realpolitik" in the Caucasus. The sooner Russia gets rid of its 19th century mindset the better.

He´s not critizing his work. He´s stating that bad maps that utilize the HRP look bad anyway (Well the HRP makes even the world´s better maps look bad).

I know this is up to you and only you, and that´s fine. But you seem to be very baised when commenting on other people´s opinions. It´s always noticeable that you don´t look at the tone of the post but more if its against the stuff you like or in favor of the stuff you´re not fond of.

Bitter, offensive, constructive or any way somebody says something that doesn´t go along your modding interests is enough motif to you to tackle it. I´m not trying to start an argument but different people with different tastes is fine.

It has nothing to do with any project. Dan is sour towards people he thinks are overly critical.

I'll use myself as an example since banter between him and other people should stay just between them.

I used to post bugs about his mods, but after awhile he got fed up and the "helpful posts" turned into "bitching".
He made a comment in another post that I perceived as possibly derogatory to the post starter and stated so. When one of his cronies jumped in to defend him, I explained my point of view and now two posts are considered "going on and on about it".

I don't take it as anything personal. It's just my turn to "irritate" him for awhile.

Captain Awesome made a good point even if it was a bit late.

I did think you were going on about it, but I won't quibble with your summary, and I don't take is personally.  I won't post in that thread again unless I have something positive to say.

But what I don't understand is what you are saying about bug reports.  I thought I was welcoming of bug reports, and I often thank people for them.  I don't recall ever saying you were "bitching" when giving a bug report.  If I did, I apologize.  Would you mind linking to the post where I said that you were "bitching" or was rude in response to a bug report?  I think you owe me that much, since you are making the accusation.

EDIT:  Yeah, the bug report accusation is really strange, as far as I can tell.  Most of your bug reports have been in the Attrition thread:  http://dukerepository.com/forum/index.php/topic,386.0.html

I just looked through there, and both of us posted like perfect gentlemen, with no rude words from either side.  I'm honestly quite baffled as to where you got that memory about bug reports.

sorry, I was complaining, not bitching

I know I can get on your nerves at times since it seems all I ever post are pointing out negatives or what needs to be fixed, but I'm not doing it with ill intent

I brought it up, but now I regret saying anything, and I really don't want to drag this out

The main thing is I don't want people believing things about me that aren't true.  When I say, "person X complained about bug Y" that means something like "person X was bothered by bug Y and reported it", it doesn't mean that person X is annoying me.  It's like when doctors talk about their patients complaining of ailments...it doesn't mean the patients did something wrong.  But I will keep in mind from now on that you can be very sensitive to that kind of language and I'll try to avoid it, since I do value your input.  In general, bug reports are a good thing, because it means that someone is playing the game.

I must say, I feel right at home.  :P

My first map was heavily criticized.   :'(  It did not stop me from making more maps.  ;D  Just saying ...
