oh yes, i found map with transparent water works only while you stand in water sector. And what for SE 40 & 41?
from 3dr forums:
Place one SE with a lotag of 40 on the water surface.
Place one SE with a lotag of 41 on the bottom of the water pool. Make sure that they are positioned on the same spot in the pool.
Place one SE with a lotag of 42 in each sector that is able to see in the water.
from 3dr forums.
Place one SE with a lotag of 43 in each submerged sector that is able to look out of the water.

Make sure that each separate sector that is part of the water surface gets an 40 and 41 sector effector. And that the angle of each one is facing down in 2d view.
The water surface has to be on the same vertical height in the above and underwater sectors. And the sectors must get a transparency tag. (T in 3d view.) you can check whether or not it works by pressing 3 in 3d view.

there is even no need in water, its' possible to create ordinary see-through, just set tile number of floor/ceiling to 562, but SE 7 has to be moved closer to ceiling/floor.

It is however pretty buggy and the current coders of eduke have given up on fixing them.
So don't complain when things doesn't look right.

being not scared of death is not enough. Being also not interested in it is much more higher.

I keep getting a "crash" where Mapster32 suddenly just disappears from view... but it still shows up in the task manager window. In order to fix it I have to close all the related processes, but dwwin.exe is a bitch and takes 5 minutes before it finally responds and ends the process. Anybody else getting this? At the moment I think it might be happening because my commit charge is filling out. But I have no idea why that would happen.

Two more things:

Backup.map was annoying, but the autosave feature is so much worse. Is there any way to permanently disable it? It's driving me nuts.

Second, why does EDuke32 keep deciding to reconfigure my controller for me? If it had a face, I would smack it. I like my current controller configuration just fine, thanks.  R)

So it can't be permanently disabled, just the '+A crap? That means I'm stuck with it then, because I switch between Mapster and other applications like a madman... I hate having to press that every couple minutes.

Hopefully they add an option for this in the configuration file in the next snapshot.

Oh and just out of curiousity... did the original game have the same transparency issues in 8 bit mode? I mean where sprites show through masked walls. That one's exclusive to EDuke32 isn't it?

I don't know, but Gambini has been complaining about that as well.  So far no one has mentioned this at 3DR where the developers will actually take note and do something about it.

As far as I remember you can disable autosaving forever, at least while you use the same mapster in the same folder all the time.

About pressing enter and switching applications, I get that too, only happens to me with internet explorer tho. I just have to press the windows button to bring up the mouse into the screen to minimize internet explorer and then I can use mapster freely.

Too bad there isn't a "restart level" feature on the main menu. I hate sifting through the 100+ maps on the User Maps screen.

Quoted from Hunter_Rus over at 3DR forums

http://wiki.eduke32.com/wiki/The_TO-..._and_Mapster32

I've made a list of problems/suggestions for EDuke32/mapster32. I hope it will be a page for developers to be aware of problems which should be solved and suggestion which could be implemented at some point.
Everyone if welcome to add suggestions so they won't be forgotten.

P.S. I also added problems which I noticed but haven't fixed because it needs more studying/understanding the code before making changes which could break something.
P.S.S. I don't like the formatting of the page but I don't know how to improve it.
Can't you see I'm easily bothered by persistence
One step from lashing out at you...
You want in to get under my skin
And call yourself a friend
I've got more friends like you
What do I do?
