The first video game(s) you ever saw.
« on: March 03, 2011, 11:38:23 AM »
I got curious and decided to ask DNR users one thing: What was/were the first video game(s) you ever saw? For me, the first game I ever saw was Flight of the Amazon Queen, a DOS PC point & click adventure game. After that the first console games I ever saw were Super Mario Allstars (original SNES version, NOT the Wii port) and Future Cop: LAPD (Playstation). I can't remeber which one of the two I saw first, because they were in adjacent rooms and both were running at the same time.

The first game I saw( and played ) was: Pong
It must have been back in early 70's.

The first game I played in colors must have been: Winter Games

I think the first videogame i paid attention to was an F1 arcade machine back there in 1984/85. i can´t find a picture right now in google. But the cars had a gray square as the muffler, i still remember that, and playing it without coins, just shaking the steering wheel.

The first home video game i saw was an Atari a friend of mine had. He would not allow me to play it (what a stupid prick) but i liked to watch him play it nonetheless. The console had b&w colours and he had the aforesaid Pong game, one of shooting rubber ducks and another of an elephant. That was in 1990.

A year later i spent a week in my cousin´s house, he had a commodore 64 with lots of games, that week was like a dream.  :) F1, Double Dragon and a lot more.

The first video game i got was a nes clone with a pistol and Duck Hunting, Wild Gunman, Makros and another one.

Nice memories.

Same here.  Although I don't think I saw any games until about '77  I remember when Space Invaders was released in 1978 and it was a big deal, such an improvement over games like Pong.  But then Asteroids came out in 1979 and blew them all away.

I'm pretty sure the first video games I saw being played were some Mario & Street Fighter games on Super Nintendo.

The first games I actually played were this:

I thought the name of that F1 game Gambini mentioned was Pole Position, but I could be wrong.

1st video game (home & arcade) was Pong. Then the next arcade was of course space invaders followed by asteroids.

The 1st home multi-gaming console I seen was the Atari 2600. I can't remember if it came with space invaders or missile command (I think it was space invaders, but I can't remember for sure)

The 1st computer game I played was a text game. It was either Adventure or Zork. The 1st computer "video" game I remember was some star trek game me and my friend had to program onto his commodore.

Wow.... Seeing these comments makes me feel like I'm still a total video game newbie....
Anyways, the following two pictures were the images that got permanently stuck to my -them 4 year old- brain. No matter how many years passed, these were the two images that I always recalled and made me wonder "what was that game?". It wasn't until last year when I found out the name of this little gem.

After that I played it and beat it.
It's odd how some supposedly insignificant things can stay in your memory for the rest of your life!

There were no arcade machine locals in your town?

Not really, and it's not like we would have had any money to spend on such things anyway.
