I do like what you have done.

But when making a Doom map for Duke 3D, there are some things to keep in mind:

1.  Doom maps are simpler, lacking slopes and other features that Duke 3D supports.  Therefore, it is like downgrading the game in terms of level geometry and map effects.

2.  The combination of Doom weapons and Doom monsters is well suited to Doom maps.  The monsters have a lot of variety, and they look cool, which makes up for the lack of map sophistication.

So, when you make a doom style map using Duke 3D weapons and monsters, the combination does not lead to good gameplay, in my opinion.

This would actually be pretty cool to try and play. I mean yeah, Doom-styled mapping is quite uncommon in Duke maps and I agree with most of what Dan G said, however I'd still be interested in playing one, as long as it's actually well thought-out layout-wise, just for the sake of the experience, even if it doesn't look as realistic or detailed as what we have come to expect from Duke maps (both user-made and not) in terms of look. I don't like the first screenshot, but the other two are rather interesting in their own way.

Thanks for your posts. The map is runs but I was not sure that evryone like it. :) But the map is still a Duke map because the Monsters and the textures are  from the normal Duke Nukem 3D. I maked this map for fun, I only like the Doom logo and i was a litle bit inspired by the Start video of Doom 64! Here are some more Screenshoots.

I don´t want to be harsh. But i will. What is the whole point of a map that only looks barely acceptable from the top view? Next time either draw game logos in paintbrush or make a map for a game. Both things don´t work together.

Sorry.

This is looking quite good. (Y)

Be sure to beta test before release.
I'm sure there are some people around here that would help you out. ;)

Then you can correct any errors that occurs in your map before you release it.  ;)

Sorry, my friend.
Don't have any time on my hands for testing.
I barely have time to run this site.

But I'm sure somebody else is willing to look into your maps.

I see some potential in the city shots although lots of things to fix as well (the "metro wall" texture in the last shot, for example).
But whatever their future, at the dawn of their lives, men seek a noble vision of man's nature and of life's potential. -Howard Roark
