To you and MIkko: stop mispronounching my name God damnit! It's MerlIJn! IJ!  >:(

Anyway just send it to merlijn_redhot@hotmail.com. I can work on this tomorrow evening. I'll send it to Forge after that.

lol. I always try to put the J before the L, but I catch myself.

Take your time Magic Man. I might not be able to do anything with it until Friday evening at the earliest.

If you want to do the end-of-level-finally, go ahead. I can squeeze something in between other parts. I'm thinking of doing an outdoor area. If you plan on an outdoor area just leave me a gap between your part and the previous part you're hooking in to.

I haven't read the thread, but if there is enough room for me, I'm in.

Maybe you could go between the Oostrums, so they don't have to make one big "Oostrum part" as they said they were reluctant to do.

Since Forge can only build on week-ends, if the next part is done by friday night or saturday it should be sent to him in priority, in my opinion. Then it could be sent to MetHy and the remaning Oostrum dude (not sure which one will want to build first)

I appreciate the consideration. It can be sent to me at anytime, but here's the deal:

If I get during the week two things are going to happen. I'm only going to get maybe 30 minutes a day to work on it, so I'm going to hold the project up for an entire week. I'll most likely break the two hour limit because of my mapping style. I lay down all the sector work first, then I go back and start putting in the texturing, shading, and detailing. It takes me extra time to find where I left off last when I do that stop-go-stop-go mapping, and that cuts into my 30 minutes. I'm going to finish what I started so I'm not going to track my "actual" time over a week of busted up mapping.

I'd rather not have to do that, mainly for the reason of holding things up.

The theme of this map is great, it gives me a lot of freedom.  (Y) Anyway, I've just used up my first hour, will continue working on it tomorrow. So far, it's shaping up to be great. I'm using the red theme to create some cool light/dark contrasts, I think you guys will like it.  (Y)
And this is the first time I've added a spritework during a speedmapping project (although it's a small one.. but still  ;D).

If MRCK agrees, I'll send it to Forge when I'm done, even if it means the whole process will take one extra week. This map has potential to be as good as suburban hive, so the more mappers work on it, the better (and Forge is a quality mapper).

Oh and the parallax sky is buggy, that should be fixed before we release this thing.

Done, sent to Forge.

I must say my second hour didn't go as well as the first one, building everything in one go definately would have been better, but oh well.. at least everything works and I like the way I connected my part to Mikko's alien base (in 2 ways actually!).

Also: the map is too hard ATM, so someone should polish the gameplay when everyone has done his part.

Have it. I'll probably look at it tonight and work on it Sunday.

I would work on it Saturday, but my wife and I have been invited to one of her friend's birthday party. So I've been volun-told to be there.  R)

lol. Maybe just me from a rope in the front yard.

Looked at the map. Why is there a big, non-pal, paralaxed texture #94 in the sky?
I couldn't find it to change it, but I did fix the non-pal city sky texture that was on the corner of one of the first buildings which made a nice gray streak across the sky.

I found where magic man left off. I can work with it.

You did an excellent job Forge, very moody location. Everyone's work so far is excellent, so hyped to see how well things turned out. Such 2-hour projects always make for epic maps, and they aren't even that time-consuming, maybe we should start them more regularly.

I'll try to find a way to fix the sky, copy pasting the right texture to all the parallexed sectors at once with ctrl alt enter should fix it easily, if it doesn't I'll just change the texture to a similar one. I haven't tried to play the map to see if it happens in game too or just in Mapster. Shouldn't be rocket science to figure something out. I might even coin in a second two-hour section after Forge's location because it's giving me a lot of ideas on how to keep the map going and I like to think that the results would be rather interesting.

Thanks. I wanted about four more hours with it.

I couldn't figure out how to fix the sky. Tried Alt-C, but it didn't work. All the standard sky textures act messed up except "Hollywood", which worked for some reason. That's why I ended up using a pal-ed 199. If you can fix the sky you can change the one in my sector to whatever you need. I Started a new sector out in the middle of nowhere and the sky was still messed up. Started a new map and the sky was fine, so it's not a mapster issue.

Hey Merljin, did you connect your part to mine or Mikko's?

In case you're wondering, my part is the part with the large number of boxes.
