The zip is damaged.

Zip file works fine here. I used Winrar to extract files.

Well, first of all, map is like a maze. You go from one place to another using cramped corridors and air ducts and I mean very cramped corridors and air ducts. Of course level offers more open areas, but there are not enough those and they are totally undetailed and uninteresting. Layout and design - both of them are on beginner´s level. Talking about the details is totally out of the question, because this level doesn´t even include any of them. Dukematch suffered from all these problems. Oh, and if level was meant to be realistic, why there should exist a hotel that is like a maze. Now there´s no realism what so ever.

Conclusion: I hope you play more DM maps for Duke Nukem 3D and try to imitate them, because your first DM map for Duke is bad. Try to create same kind of places as in other great DM maps, but don´t copy their sectors, just try to recreate them. That way you can learn and improve your skills and see, what kind of DM maps you can create.
I´m RazorZ, mapper from Finland, big fan of Duke - what else you could be waiting for?

Currently released maps (score is average):
    - Resistance Rocks (89,5)
    - Demolition Plant   (92)
    - Mincer City            (94)

Hi Dakkiller,
don't be too disheartened by the criticism you've received of your first level. You're obviously a novice at building Duke levels, but so was everyone here at one point, and your first level is the kind of map that everyone makes as their first effort. My first map was truly miserable. It's probably best to think of Strip Hotel as a training run, because the truth is it's pretty bad for a serious release.

You're getting the effects, like doors and water teleports, to work which is a good start. Now you just need to work on developing an eye for detail and shading. Look at real rooms and structures around you and start thinking, "How would I build this in Duke?". Also, work to a plan. It's obvious when a map author has not got a coherent picture of how the level is supposed to go, because they just put in whatever comes to mind wherever they want.

Good luck, and welcome aboard. We need more mappers around here, so don't let the reception to your first attempt get you down. You'll find you'll improve rapidly with more practice.
