I've put the news on the front page.  ;)
Can't you see I'm easily bothered by persistence
One step from lashing out at you...
You want in to get under my skin
And call yourself a friend
I've got more friends like you
What do I do?

Played it a bit, up to the part where you activate the four power pod switch and kill the enemies to get the souls and open the door.
Initial impressions are good. Nice solid level design, good ambiance and feel. Nice import of models from different games. Nice features to the game play, but the HUD was confusing until I got used to it. The levels are large and require alot of exploring to find what is needed to progress (I like exploring, but some may not, at least not on this scale). The chainsaw looks really messed up under water. I can jump off the wizard's head to reach areas that aren't supposed to be reached (standing on his head is a good way to kill bees with the chainsaw). The music is sporadic. Initially the game crashed after the first play when I died and tried to start a new game. Then I immediately loaded the game and it crashed and froze my computer. After a reboot I have experienced no more load or crash problems.

Then I must be talking about the first 4 power pod-kill the enemies for their souls switch. I think it's the third level, the one right after you climb the hill and open the first soul gate.

"Dukem Nukem" ?

Axon refers to Duke as "Duke of Nukem" because he doesn't understand that Duke is a name and not a title.  It was a little joke.

Ah, I always wondered if I misheard that part. It made me laugh anyway. ;D

I tried, but the crashes are so frequent it's taken almost two hours of real time to get ten minutes of game time. I still haven't reached the bottom of the hole after fighting that wizard thing with the shield spinning around it.

On a side note I was getting visual anomalies from the rain. Little black spots scattered across the screen like snow on the TV.

I'm just going to have to wait for the audio bug to be fixed before attempting to complete the WGR2 mod (in it's entirety).

edit: it's not the rain here's a couple screen shots. The pics only show one or two spots, but it's happening so fast it looks like snow on a tv.

edit #2: The "snow effect" only occurs in certain sectors, not game wide. I can walk out of the sector and it stops, then it starts again when I walk back into the sector.

btw, can an admin move this post to the proper WGR2 topic? thanks

New version uploaded.  Significant bug fixes and balance tweaks.

Sorry, Forge, it won't fix any of the problems you mentioned, because those are EDuke32 issues.
