Uhh, requiring betatesters
« on: August 27, 2008, 10:36:48 AM »
The current nameless project im working on is going well, around 400+ sectors, but still in early stages. Though going slow.
But i could use someone to test some of the more... scary effects that i planned, and a certain one i'd enjoy seeing one trapped in.  >:D

If anyone is interested, and preferabaly has fast internet, or lives a bit close to Netherland, maybe, with in any case decent ping, should post?

I suppose it could also involve contact trough things, such as MSN.
I currently have nobody to betatest with. :P

Hmmm... Remembers me... I should put some things ready...
Hope the traps and effects have some atmosphere.

And dont mind unfinished parts, it's only in its beginning stage!
Besides, i could do with something against boredom and to test the map. As well as reaction to some effects.

You request live beta-testing; online play and Windows Live contact? or
standard off-line beta-testing; map send through mail service and wait for response on analysis?

Hmm... Can vary, but more like someone who i can contact frequently, to test things on coop or dukematch, thus, the requiring somewhat fast speed.

And i'd just love to see someone get crushed by my traps. >:D
Although its also a bit of difficulty testing, i suppose.

Also usefull for pointing out suggestions, and maybe the odd bug, and such.

And the only direct contact i have at this moment would be MSN, though Hamachi is an alternative, and usefull in case normal connection wont do.
I am incapable of hosting a game myself, i'll have to join instead, or Hamachi would be required for either me or someone else to connect, host and play. Very usefull with blocked ports/routers.

Reliably, I can provide you off-line beta-testing services. If you agree, I want to beta-test.

Well, I could help you out every once in a while. I'm also dutch and my connection is pretty fast (well fast enough for online duking at least). (Y)

Hmm... I timed out during posting, but i certainly dont mind someone with good connection and in my country!

Though, do you got MSN or anything similar to contact with?
I got the map ready right now, i suppose. Its small, though, and the RED-ish effects are i guess best tested by the one who made all the RED-ish stuff. :P

Though my style isnt too much of throwing scary images into one's face, but i do have a certain idea... :P

I wonder if you'd like my crusher. >:D

Erm, i do mean to mainly choose Merlijn for beta testing, mainly due to the speed, and a bit because of the good name. :P

Im not too sure if i should test with you right now at this moment, but i'll see.

And for those who need/want to know my internet speed, i believe its some kind of broadband thingy, with a router though, forcing me to join or host with hamachi, to play at all. Hosting with Hamachi would require the other person to use Hamachi too. It never fails, though.

Currently quite far on a interesting idea for something scary.
I still wonder if anyone wishes to betatest it, provided the connection is a bit good, and preferabaly living in Holland, nearby, or just good enough connection to do it decently.

And are you still around Merlijn?
I suppose you could add me on MSN or something for better contact.
Or anyone else a bit trustworthy for online testing.

But unlikely i'll finish it this night, i have less then 2 hours or so left before im better off sleeping. And work keeps me busy for quite a few hours as well, though i can update map in break times. But maybe if things go fast... Or someone replies within a hour or so.

As long as someone replies soon, and i get that elevator fixed, things could be reviewed and tested.

I would beta test your map but sadly I'm getting so pissed when I'm trapped or getting squished... It scares me  :( (If there's a way I could use god mode in multiplayer that would work :P )

I never thought i'd see someone get more scared then me by traps. :P

That makes me wonder, if you dont like being stuck in small rooms with death slowly approaching, i wonder what you think on slimers? To me, their face hugging additude is by far more... scary. :P
Though i didnt add those, i am planning on a nice suprise in a vent, though.

One relief to multiplayer, you can respawn! And i DO need a person who can become scared, so i can see that it works. :P

Dont be afraid of death... You either see it coming or it will be quick... :P

But by all means, feel free to add me on MSN if you'd want to test it sometime, regardless of being spooked easily, i'm always there if it gets too scary.

Another hint, press F7! In third person view things become less scarier, i do it frequently when in unavoidable combat with a slimer. Or face hugging traps.

If you dont got MSN, you can also try using Hamachi, as soon as i read the notice, i'll just turn mine on then. Remember names and passwords are caps sensetive. But all is explained in my signature.

I suppose im content with you betatesting, but if anyone else ever feels like trying, who knows. Though i certainly noticed you dislike scary stuff, ever played those RED maps? Hehe...

But certainly more attemps at scary stuff to come. And some general outside area work as well, hmm, i should still fix that elevator.
